Sandra Huller is a frontrunner for Oscar nominations in both Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress in 2027.
The acclaimed actress is eligible in the leading category for her performance in Rose and the trailer just debuted online.
The movie, directed by Markus Schleinzer, is Austria’s selection for the Best International Feature category at the Oscars next year. Sandra won the Silver Bear for Best Leading Performance at the Berlin Film Festival and the movie received a Silver Medallion at the Telluride Film Festival.

Amidst the turmoil of the Thirty Years’ War, somewhere in Germany, a mysterious soldier appears in a secluded protestant village. Small and quiet, his face disfigured by a scar, this stranger declares himself the heir of a long-abandoned farmstead and produces a document to support his claim to the suspicious villagers. With time, he overcomes their doubts and shows himself to be a hard-working, God-fearing man, becoming part of the community in a quest for acceptance made up of impossible deceit. The true and twisted tale of a deceiver of land and folk, who, defying her birth as a woman, comported herself as a man and committed many a wicked deed.
The movie also stars Caro Braun, Marisa Growaldt, Robert Gwisdek, and Godehard Giese.
Rose will be released in U.S. theaters on December 11.
Kalshi is predicting that Sandra has a 62% chance of getting a Best Actress nomination at the Oscars, putting her in 4th place right now.
Sandra is also in 6th place on Kalshi for a Best Supporting Actress nomination, for either her work in Digger or Project Hail Mary.
